The Moment We Are In

Why the Pakistan Rights Movement exists

Pakistan is passing through one of the harshest periods in its political history. Power has become increasingly centralized, criticism is curtailed, and democratic institutions operate under visible strain. Recent laws have drawn concern from international observers, including the United Nations, as civic space continues to contract and fundamental rights grow uncertain.

The rule of law is weakening. Political detentions, drawn-out trials, and unequal access to justice have created a climate of intimidation and unpredictability. At the same time, corruption and cartelization flourish, while millions struggle with unemployment, inflation, and poverty. Governance appears adrift, institutions operate without coherence, and the space for the business community is shrinking by the minute.

Amid this environment, on 10 January 2026, Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, together with concerned citizens, established the Pakistan Rights Movement (PRM), so that a struggle for social justice, fundamental rights, and global peace can be organized, principled, and peaceful.

Our Purpose

Mission & Vision

Our Mission
To bring about social and political change through a democratic, non-violent, legal, and peaceful struggle, while fighting against injustice at both the local and international level.
Our Vision
A Pakistan where every citizen enjoys justice, equality, and respect, and where state power is accountable to the Constitution. Where the people's right to rule and the Islamic spirit of the Constitution are protected, and the state fulfils its responsibility of providing health, education, and other basic necessities.

Our Three "R" Agenda

Rights. Resistance. Reforms.

Three commitments define how we organize and act.

01

Rights

We will defend the constitutional, human, social, and economic rights of all citizens.

02

Resistance

We will stand against injustice, oppression, corruption, and abuse of power, always peacefully.

03

Reforms

We will work for changes in laws, institutions, and society to create a fair and dignified future.

The Four Corners of Our Resistance

How we resist matters as much as why

Our struggle stays within the Constitution and the law.

Democratic

We rely on public power, transparency, and participation.
