The Moment We Are In
Why PRM was founded
Pakistan is passing through one of the harshest periods in its political history. Power has become increasingly centralized, criticism is curtailed, and democratic institutions operate under visible strain. Recent laws have drawn concern from international observers, including the United Nations, as civic space continues to contract and fundamental rights grow uncertain.
The rule of law is weakening. Political detentions, drawn-out trials, and unequal access to justice have created a climate of intimidation and unpredictability. At the same time, corruption and cartelization flourish, while millions struggle with unemployment, inflation, and poverty so severe that estimates suggest nearly three to four million people rely on begging for survival. Governance appears adrift, institutions operate without coherence, and the economic system is dragged down by mismanagement and exploitation. The space for the business community is shrinking by the minute.
Democracy has been repeatedly disrupted, Parliament sidelined, and civilian authority diluted. The result is a country where people feel unprotected, rights appear negotiable, and accountability is rare.
Amid this environment, on 10 January 2026, Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, together with concerned citizens, established the Pakistan Rights Movement (PRM): an organized platform focused on constitutional rights, lawful resistance, and principled reform, so that a struggle for social justice, fundamental rights, and global peace can be organized.

To see a Pakistan where every citizen enjoys justice, equality, and respect, and where state power is accountable to the Constitution. Where the people's right to rule and the Islamic spirit of the Constitution of Pakistan is protected and the state fulfils its responsibility of providing health, education and other basic necessities.
The Name
Three letters, three promises
The tri-colour wordmark carries the same meanings as the movement's flag.
Pakistan
Green, the colour of Pakistan and Islam: the movement's roots, and the country it serves.
Rights
Red, the colour of rights, resistance, and revolution: the struggle the movement was built for.
Movement
Blue, the colour of freedom and universality: a movement of people, open to every citizen.
How We Struggle
Peaceful by principle, not by convenience
Everything PRM does sits inside four commitments, the Four Corners of its resistance: the struggle stays legal, within the Constitution and the law; it is democratic, relying on public power, transparency, and participation; it is non-violent, rejecting violence in all forms; and it is peaceful, keeping every action, protest, and speech calm, disciplined, and responsible.
The agenda those principles serve is summarized in three words: defending rights, offering peaceful resistance to injustice and abuse of power, and working for reforms in laws, institutions, and society.
